ZEROHAL, LOW FIRE HAZARD PRODUCTS DELIVER COMPLETE CABLING AND INTERCONNECTS SYSTEM

HARRISBURG, Paris,March 19, 2013 – TE Connectivity(TE)  line of low fire hazard products designed for marine applications offer a low halogen system of insulating and sealing components, including heat shrink molded parts, tubing and adhesive. The low halogen material offers good fluid resistance in fuels, oils and greases. These low fire hazard parts offer designers a complete system of cabling and interconnects for commercial and military shipboard use, as well as manned ROV and offshore platform use.

"Because of our extensive experience in the marine market, we have a thorough understanding of the environmental, mechanical and electrical requirements," said John Kuster, senior product manager, TE Connectivity, Global Aerospace, Defense & Marine. "Our full line of low fire hazard products for marine platforms allows engineers great flexibility, due to the availability of parts of all common shapes and designs, to keep electrical harness designs simple."

The system has an operating temperature of minus 30 degrees Celsius to 105 degrees Celsius, is highly flame retardant and meets the BSG 198 Part 5 requirements for low smoke generation when burned. TE's low fire hazard products provide the reliability and safety that is needed to protect personnel in restricted areas in the sea-going and offshore platform vessels. The system meets the international standard for low smoke and low toxicity, and qualifies for VG 95218 Low Smoke Zero Halogen.
