Pediatrics in USA
Hyderabad, India - The Pediatric specially was officially introduced in
the USA in 1861 by German Doctor Abraham Jacobi.
Dr. Jacobi was a
German Pediatrician is considered to be the ‘Father of American Pediatrics’. He
shifted to New York in 1853 and set-up the pediatrics chair at the New York
Medical College in1861 organized several pediatric societies began publication
of several Pediatric Journals and developed children departments in several New
York hospitals.
Along with Jacobi pioneers such as Luther Emmett Holt
(1855-1924) in New York Forsyth Miens (1818-1882) in Philadelphia and William

The American Academy
of Pediatrics Academy of Pediatrics was set-up in 1930 by a group of 35
Pediatricians to promote positive in care given to children.
They enmousurged
follow doctors to explore specialized treatments rather than treating babies
and children as ‘miniature adults”.
The writings of these
men emphasized that children have a unique physiology and sadistically
different mental and physical development. The first separate Pediatrics
hospital was set-up in Philadelphia in 1855.

Iron Dome TM can handle multiple threats simultaneously & efficiently
The Iron Dome is the
only dual mission system in the world that provides an effective defense
solution for countering rockets, artillery & mortars (C-RAM) as well as aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, PGMs.
The
system is an effective system for countering C-RAM threats with ranges of up to 70 km and for VSHORAD protection (up to 10km) and operates
in all weather conditions, including low clouds, rain, dust storms or fog.
Iron Dome TM can handle multiple threats
simultaneously and efficiently.
The
system enables effective and selective handling of critical threats aimed at
the defended zone to reduce unnecessary launches and uses a unique interceptor
with a special warhead that detonates any target in the air within
seconds. If the estimated rocket trajectory poses a critical threat, a command
is given within seconds and an interceptor is launched against the threat.
The
interceptor receives trajectory updates from the BMC via uplink communication
and approaches the target and uses its radar seeker to acquire the target and
guides the interceptor within passing distance. The target warhead is detonated
over a neutral area, therefore reducing collateral damage to the protected
area.
The
Iron Dome system has been selected by the Israeli Defense Ministry as the best
system offering the most comprehensive defense solution against a wide range of
threats in a relatively short development cycle and at low cost.
Since
becoming operational by the Israeli Air Force in April 2011, Iron Dome has
successfully intercepted over 500 rockets that have been fired from the Gaza
Strip at Southern and Central Israel.
Iron
Dome system has achieved a very high rate of successful interceptions. In doing
so, the system saved lives and prevented serious damages to property.
Benefits :
·
Combat
proven and cost effective solution
·
Day/night
and all weather operation
·
Successful
handling of simultaneous firing(concentrated salvos) of a large number of
threats
·
Effective
discrimination and handling of threats

Calcium an essential mineral for body functions
Calcutta,
India–Adequate
calcium intake is important so the human body can’t produce it. Even after
reaching full skeletal growth, adequate calcium make is essential because the
body loses calcium everyday through shed skin, nails hair and sweat. This lost
calcium must be replaced daily through diet.
When the diet does not
contain enough calcium to perform these activities calcium is taken from bones,
the storage area for calcium.
In order to, let your
body function properly the level of calcium in the blood must stay relatively
constant. For this to happen, we need to consume enough calcium throughout the
day otherwise our blood will “steal” calcium from our bones to maintain the
level it requires. Think of our bones as “bank”. If our diet is low in calcium,
our blood “withdraws” the calcium it needs from our bones.
When our diet is rich
in calcium, we make “deposits” in our calcium bank i.e. bones. Overtime, if our
withdrawals exceed our deposits,
Our bones can begin to
weaken and become more susceptible to breaking.

Saab Presents Gripen E Simulator With Wide Area Display
Chennai,
India -
The Wide Area Display
in Gripen E is a panoramic high resolution screen(19 x 8 in) that allows a
redundant and intelligent presentation of information across its entire length,
with the capacity to receive inputs from multitask keys the touchscreen or
external interfaces.
Using data fusion, it provides the pilot with the
information needed and is the main source of flight and mission information in
the cockpit. Situational awareness is a key factor in winning the modern battle
space. Thanks to its advanced human-machine collaboration,Gripen E shares and
displays the right tactical information to the pilots at the right moment.
The information is presented in easily
inter-repeatable information-eccentric icons on a large wide area display touch
screen enabling fully-configurable information presentation and the potential
for reconfiguration mid-mission by the press of a button.
“The sensor and weapon ranges are getting longer so
the modern battle space covers bigger areas. To be able to cover that area in
your tactical display you have to zoom out. It is a challenge to both get an overview
of the battle space and also get the level of detail that you need. WAD gives
you that possibility“, says Jonas Helm head of Saab business area Aeronautics.
The WAD is developed by the Brazilian-based company
AEL System as a part of the Brazilian Gripen Technology transfer agreement. Using the
state-of-the-art technology Gripen E is designed to meet the demands of
existing and future threats while simultaneously meeting strict requirements
for flight safety reliability training efficiency and low operating costs. The
future battle space will be very demanding.
Fighter aircraft will need to analyse and handle high volumes of data,
supporting the pilot’s ability to select launch and guide weapons in perfect coordination
with other team members–well before the adversary.
This is
where Gripen E dominates. A key differentiator for Gripen E is its availability
and adaptability. The aircraft has the lowest Life Cycle Cost and small
logistic footprint.
