Kuala Lumpur, 7 February 2013– The Australian High Commission’s Australia Day 2013 Reception saw the launch of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s spectacular State-of-the-Art Banqueting offering – the first of the Centre’s ‘Year of Culinary Excellence’. Guests had the chance to experience some of the Centre’s exciting culinary innovations including hanging pedestals (pictured left), ‘Chef Showmanship Stations’ (pictured right) and an Australian themed ice sculpture.
The concept behind State-of-the-Art Banqueting is to create an unrivalled banqueting excellence so guests get to experience tantalising cuisine that is as stimulating on the eyes as it is on the tastebuds.
Commenting on the initiative, Executive Chef Richmond Lim said, “Our goal with State-of-the-Art Banqueting is to delight our guests. A memorable culinary experience must be able to satisfy our five senses, which means it goes beyond just having great tastes. We have put a lot of emphasis on how our food is presented as we firmly believe we should ‘eat with our eyes’. For example, our newly introduced ‘Chef Showmanship Stations’ allow our chefs to showcase their culinary skills while interacting directly with guests, adding an extra touch of colour and adventure to the occasion.”
