Kolkata, India- Shri Harindra
Rao, General Manager, Eastern Railway administered the ‘Constitution Day’
pledge by reading the Preamble of Constitution of India on the
occasion of observance of ‘Constitution Day’, at ER Headquarters this
morning. All Officers and Staff of Eastern Railway reiterated the basic ethos
of the Constitution as a
‘Sovereign Socialist Secular Democratic Republic’.
It may be noted that, Constitution Day is being observed throughout
the country on 26 November to mark the anniversary of the
adoption of our Constitution on November 26, 1949.
‘Constitution Day’ is also being observed in all the four Divisions of
Eastern Railway viz. Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol & Malda and three Workshops
viz. Liluah, Kanchrapara& Jamalpur.
