Ram Indranil Kamath Chosen to Exhibit his Art at The Indian Luxury Expo

17th December, 2012 Hyderabad, India On view from December 17 to December 19, 2012, at The Indian Luxury Expo, Rasutra: The Art of Ram Indranil Kamath is the most comprehensive presentation to date of work by this remarkable artist.

Ram Indranil Kamath is an international artist who is known for his dynamic and colorful glass paintings.  Kamath is best known for his figurative and highly detailed large-scale glass paintings filled with fantastic and symbolic images. The works’ intricate, polished surfaces and allegorical content create compelling windows into provocative alternate universes.  Kamath’s paintings allude to mythological culture and presciently address current events.

At once ephemeral and eternal, at once superb and sublime, at once the source and the sustenance, this place of muse and multicolor is what Ram Indranil Kamath’s work, in the words of a leading New York art critic, “Instantly recognizable and sets it apart from any other type of art in the world.”  The colors cavort from one intense hue to another reaching a crescendo and explode into a mesmerizing amalgam of exquisite appeal.

“The vast array of themes Ram Indranil Kamath addresses in his paintings reveals a Renaissance-like approach to making art,” observes Curator Padmashree P.S.

Pallavi Sharma, of The Kala Ghoda Art Association Bombay, the guest curator of the exhibition stated, “He meticulously researched these topics and invented a complex and stunning visual vocabulary with which to explore the themes.” Kamath sets off dynamic interactions between unique three-dimensional sculptural medium and their two-dimensional yet illusionistic subjects.

Speaking on the occasion  Mr.  Kamath said “I am very pleased and honored to be chosen by The Indian Luxury Expo to present my works at this show.  It is nice to be recognized locally in the art-loving city of Hyderabad.”
